At Oasis of Hope Hospital, we believe one of the best ways to learn about our treatments, and what truly makes our cancer care different, is to listen to the experiences of our patients. Judith Lowe / Ovarian Cancer

Judith Lowe was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. In this video, she recalls the compassion and support she experienced at Oasis of Hope Hospital: “My family was very apprehensive about receiving treatment in Mexico knowing that the best treatment in the world is in the US. Ricky Deniz / Liver Cancer Survivor

Ricky Deniz was diagnosed with liver Cancer in 2005. Donald Factor / Lung Cancer

Donald Factor, famed son cosmetics giant Max factor, went to the Oasis of Hope hospital after being told he only had 4 months to live. “After the initial treatment and about a year of home therapy. I was totally clear of any sign of cancer. Although I will probably never know if any one part of my experience was the actual key to my recovery, I am convinced that it was most likely all of it – everything, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Ken Papini / Esophageal Cancer

Ken Papini was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer in 2004. He was scheduled for surgery on Nov, 2004 after the doctors found a tumor in his esophagus, it took him 2 months to recover. Nonetheless, the tumor had spread to his lymph nodes. “We arrived at the Oasis of Hope hospital in January of 2005. It was my wife’s idea for us to go to the Oasis of Hope. She had had cancer in 1970 and was treated by Dr. Contreras Sr. All these years later she has been cancer free. I think the most important thing people should realize is what a special place Oasis of Hope is.

Caleb Dominguez / Lukemia

Caleb Dominguez was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006. “Essentially the decision to go to Oasis of Hope was the last option we had. We weren’t too sure about this place. We were very hesitant and anxious as we weren’t sure what to expect. However, we had heard a lot of good things from close friends, church families, neighbors and long-time friends, that there was something different about Oasis of Hope. That’s when things started turning around.

Burga Ratti / Breast Cancer

Burga ratti was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. “It has been 20+ years since I first went to Oasis of Hope. The emotional support was great. We had sing-a-longs in the mornings and many other activities. I don’t know what the best part about being at Oasis of Hope is. If you have cancer, or if any of your loved ones have cancer, check it out. Use the Internet or call. Oasis is a holistic place, they just don’t treat the body; they treat the person. Everyone has the same great spirit; Oasis is a great place to be.”
